Young Frankenstein San Francisco | Golden Gate Theatre
In 1974, Mel Brooks speared the classic horror film Frankenstein with a rich parody starring Gene Wilder, and received the rare Oscar nod for a comedy for his efforts. Thirty-three years later, the successful translation of Brooks’ the Producers brought Young Frankenstein back to life on the Broadway stage. The production is now busily touring theaters throughout the country and is due to stop in on San Francisco’s Golden Gate Theatre from June 29 – July 25. Direction duties are handled by Susan Stroman and Mel Brooks himself are handling music and lyrics duties. See Mel Brooks’ classic find its zany way to the stage in this laugh-inducing romp at the Golden Gate Theatre while it lasts.
