Rock of Ages San Francisco | Curran Theatre

It was the decade of big hair, ultra-loud guitar solos, leather-clad rockers and the dawning of the “MTV era” when aspiring rocker Drew and Kansas-bred Sheree were struck by love at first screech of the distorted guitar at the Bourbon Bar along Sunset Strip. “Rock of Ages” is based on the book by Chris D’Arienzo and is directed by Tony Award nominee Kristin Hanggi. Musical arrangement of rock covers by Ethan Popp.

This is the story of the Broadway hit “Rock of Ages”, set in the time where the music of the likes of Bon Jovi, Journey, REO Speedwagon and others were sort of the everyday anthems of those enslaved by pop culture. Featuring the talents of Constantine Maroulis of “American Idol” fame as “Drew”, Emily Padgett as the country-hailing showbiz-aspirant-turned-stripper “Sheree” and James Carpinello from Broadway’s “Xanadu”, as the antagonist and Arsenal vocalist “Stacee Jaxx”, this Tony Award nominated musical will be going on its first national tour beginning in the fall in Chicago’s Bank of America Theatre.

“Rock of Ages” will also be bringing some nostalgic heavy head banging in San Francisco when it comes to the Curran Theater for a limited run from March 8 to April 3, 2011. For advanced tickets, premium seating and sold out shows, review the ticket options featured below.
